I believe there may be some sort of IAT1 air multiplier that isn't accesible in hptuners that throws the MAF off as well.Īlso try giving the throttle an ultra light tap when its acting up, only enough to rev like 200rpm, see if Vac increases after that. Have never really had an issue on 2006+ cars I have tuned. I have seen my car hit -13inHg just sitting at a stoplight in the summer, no Vac leaks either. I have similar issues with my car when its above 80degrees and sunny, no codes but the idle TPS goes super high with the AC on, only when its above 80degrees though. I am convinced there is some sort of bad settings in these 2004 saturn ion redlines for idle that were updated in the newer model years but never fixed in the old ones. So it'll be a week or two before I'm back on a known quantity of gas ( will be E10 93 ). And this Saturday, I'm going to run the tank close to empty and fill back up with E85 in another city for a dyno day. I can't really verify for sure how off the MAF and VE are right this second, since my local E85 supplier has been out for the last 3 weeks, and currently there's a bastard mix of E85 and E10 93 that's ~E30 in the tank ( I'm running a 12.97 stoich and it's pretty close, car drives fine ). Anybody have any idea what I can do to clean up the idle with the A/C on? As far as I know, all settings related to the AC in the tune are completely stock. With A/C on, the STFTs will go positive, ranging from +14 to +32 With no A/C on, the STFTs stay in the neighborhood of negative 5 to 7 Things I noticed in the scanner trying to narrow down the issue.

If you clear the code and cut the A/C off, the car acts fine again until you cut the A/C on again.

The car actually acts like it wants to stay alive. When the car would do this previously, it would violently cut up and shake the car. It actually seems as if the IAC electronics in the TB are somewhat keeping up with the problem. Although, it is not *nearly* as bad as before. Once you turn the air conditioning on, it'll act right for a minute and then cut up, throwing the P0507 code. Idling with no air conditioning on is silky smooth with no P0507 or idle cutups. Idle is much smoother than with the factory TB. New Base 3.0 Tune CL - E85 Tune, 23 degrees.hpt The event occurs at the end of the log and is obvious. I'm almost wondering if it's not a hidden emissions test attempting to run and upsetting the car.Īttached is the log of this occurring, 3.0 VCM Scanner setup, as well as the tune. I'm at my wits end with this, as it only every once in a while will act up, but when it does it's usually at a busy light, and I have to key cycle the car with a 10 second wait to get it to act right again. Forcing the car into Open Loop whether VE or MAF only produces a 1 to 2% lambda error. The car is mostly MAF tuned, but runs Dynamic under 2000rpm to keep low-speed operation smooth. Stock throttle body has not been ported or altered in any way. The car is M62 supercharged, running stock TB, as well as ID1000's and a Boost Referenced Fuel System. Spraying MAF cleaner around all pertinent places has produced no vacuum leak All gaskets behind the MAF have been recently replaced ( TB, SC, Intake gasket ) Throttle body and MAF have been cleaned I'll also get a P0507 code when this occurs. However, coming to a stop at a light or an extended idle ( more than 30 seconds ) will cause it to go off the charts lean. The car runs great going down the road, WOT, whatever. Running into an issue where my 2004 Ion Redline will randomly go super-lean at idle.
